The Central University of Punjab, Bathinda (CU Punjab), has once again demonstrated its commitment to academic excellence, research innovation, and holistic institutional development by securing the 8th position nationally in the “Central Universities” category of the IIRF Top Universities in India 2026 Rankings.
Under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, the university has continued its upward trajectory in higher education. With this achievement, CU Punjab has remained among the Top 10 Central Universities in the IIRF Rankings for the fourth consecutive year, strengthening its standing in India’s higher education landscape.
In the IIRF 2026 Rankings, CU Punjab secured an impressive overall score of 976.07 out of 1000. The university performed exceptionally well across nine parameters, including Academic Reputation, Graduate Outcome & Employability, Research Outcome, Demand Ratio & Student Profile, Employer Reputation & International Outlook, Wellbeing & Institutional Development, Impact & Value Addition, Peer Perception & Alumni Feedback, and Public Perception & Data Verification.
Expressing happiness over the achievement, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari congratulated the faculty members, officers, staff, students, research scholars, alumni, and all stakeholders of the university. He stated that this recognition is a testament to the collective dedication and hard work of the university community.
Prof. Tiwari emphasized that the university would continue striving for higher standards of excellence in teaching, research, innovation, and community engagement while contributing meaningfully to nation-building.
CU Punjab has also earned national and international recognition through its performance in NIRF 2025 and the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2026. The university’s strong showing in the IIRF 2026 Rankings underscores its growing stature as a leading institution of higher education in India.
