Actor Mohit Malik has shared an emotional account of his visit to an old-age home in Shirdi with his wife Aditi Malik, saying the experience reminded him of the importance of companionship, care and spending time with elderly people.
The Mirzapur actor shared glimpses from his visit on Instagram and said the trip was planned around Guru Purnima. He revealed that he and Aditi visited the Dwarkamai Vruddhashram in Shirdi, a place he said holds a special place in his heart.
Recalling his return to the old-age home after eight months, Mohit said the residents welcomed them with warmth, smiles and hugs, making them feel remembered and valued.
“Shirdi always has a way of humbling me, grounding me, and bringing me back to what truly matters,” he wrote, adding that although life had kept him busy, the residents had not forgotten him.
The actor said the visit reinforced his belief that spending time with people in need of emotional support can be one of the most meaningful acts of service.
He emphasised that many elderly residents do not seek material help but value personal attention and human connection. According to Mohit, listening to their stories, sharing moments of laughter and simply being present can bring immense happiness to both sides.
Encouraging people to visit old-age homes, the actor said meaningful interactions often leave visitors with a greater sense of fulfilment than what they initially hoped to offer.
