Lovely Professional University (LPU) Founder Chancellor and Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal met Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu on Monday to discuss strengthening the national capital’s education and healthcare ecosystems.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the education and healthcare infrastructure sectors and focused on enhancing collaboration among academia, industry and government to promote innovation and improve institutional capacity.
During the interaction, the participants exchanged views on positioning Delhi as a global hub for education, innovation and healthcare excellence through stronger partnerships and coordinated policy efforts.
The Lieutenant Governor emphasised that such collaborative engagements are important for advancing the vision of Viksit Delhi while contributing to the broader national goal of Viksit Bharat through quality education, innovation and world-class healthcare infrastructure.
Speaking after the meeting, Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal said India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation would depend significantly on the strength of its education and healthcare systems.
“Achieving this vision requires closer collaboration between academia, industry, healthcare institutions and policymakers to create innovative, inclusive and future-ready solutions. Such constructive dialogues are essential for translating ideas into impactful outcomes that benefit society and contribute to the vision of Viksit Bharat,” he said.
The discussions also underscored the importance of bringing together key stakeholders to promote innovation, knowledge-sharing and infrastructure development, with a focus on improving the quality and accessibility of education and healthcare services.
LPU said it remains committed to advancing higher education through its EduRevolution philosophy, which integrates entrepreneurship, experiential learning and industry engagement into academics, while supporting initiatives that contribute to education, innovation and national development.
