The Gujarat government has assigned additional responsibilities to 16 senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Gujarat Administrative Service (GAS) officers through an order issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), making interim administrative arrangements across various departments, public sector undertakings and district-level offices.
The order states that the officers will hold the additional charges until further orders or until the officers currently assigned to those posts are formally relieved following recent transfers.
Among the major assignments, V.K. Patel, Executive Director of the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC), has been given additional charge of another Executive Director post at GIDC. Y.S. Chaudhari, Joint Managing Director of the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited, will additionally serve as Managing Director of the Gujarat Rural Industries Marketing Corporation Limited (GRIMCO).
M.R. Prajapati, Secretary of the Sports Authority of Gujarat, has been entrusted with the additional responsibility of Officer on Special Duty at the Gujarat Maritime Board, while Y.B. Jhala, Additional Inspector General of Registration, has been assigned the additional charge of Additional Collector in the Office of the Superintendent of Stamps and Inspector General of Registration.
The government has also entrusted K.B. Patel with the additional responsibility of Director of the Chief Minister Helpline Co-ordination Unit, while N.U. Pathan has been appointed Additional Collector (Irrigation), Vadodara. M.C. Pandya has received the additional charge of Additional Collector (Narmada), and A.D. Joshi has been assigned another General Manager post within the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC).
Other key appointments include P.V. Gondaliya as additional Registrar of the Gujarat State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, C.A. Gohil as Deputy Director of SPIPA, Ahmedabad, and V.K. Sambad as Additional Collector in the Office of the Regional Commissioner of Municipalities, Bhavnagar.
At the district level, P.P. Patel has been given additional charge as Chief Executive Officer of the Rajkot Urban Development Authority (RUDA), while P.H. Galchar, Pinakini Bhagora and A.V. Dangi have been assigned additional responsibilities as Directors of the District Rural Development Agencies (DRDAs) in Rajkot, Narmada-Rajpipla and Valsad, respectively.
The order also assigns IAS officer Vandana Meena, Project Administrator of the Tribal Area Sub Plan in Mahisagar-Lunawada, the additional charge of the Tribal Area Sub Plan, Aravalli-Modasa.
