Punjab Governor kickstarts Sarovar Kar Sewa at Shri Devi Talab Mandir, Urges masses to join sacred service

Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria today inaugurated the Sarovar Kar Sewa at the historic Sidh Shaktipeeth Shri Devi Talab Mandir, Jalandhar, urging people from all walks of life to actively participate in this sacred act of service to God.

Accompanied by Speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha Kultar Singh Sandhwan, Cabinet Minister and AAP Punjab President Aman Arora, Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian, Padma Bhushan Barjinder Singh Hamdard, AAP Punjab Prabhari Manish Sisodia, and President Shri Devi Talab Management Committee Shital Vij, the Governor paid obeisance at the revered temple before commencing the Kar Sewa.

Addressing the gathering, the Governor expressed gratitude for being part of the holy initiative, likening the service to the cleaning of one’s own home. “Just as we keep our houses clean, it is equally our duty to maintain the sanctity of God’s abode through Kar Sewa,” he remarked.

He emphasized that beyond political affiliations, everyone shares a moral duty to serve humanity and protect spiritual institutions that inspire selfless devotion. “Such pious places give us strength and blessings to perform our duties passionately,” he added, encouraging citizens to involve their children in the sewa to strengthen their connection with cultural roots.

Earlier, President Shital Vij warmly welcomed the dignitaries and the Shri Devi Talab Mandir Prabandhak Committee honoured the distinguished guests for their participation in the sacred endeavour.

Prominent amongst others present on the occasion included Mayor Vineet Dhir, Senior AAP Leaders Nitin Kohli, Rajwinder Kaur Thiara, Dinesh Dhall.
