Air India has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Tourism to jointly promote India as a leading global tourism destination and strengthen the country’s position as an aviation and transit hub.
The partnership will create a framework for coordinated efforts in tourism marketing, trade engagement, transit tourism and improving visitor experiences, Air India said in a statement.
Under the agreement, Air India and the Ministry of Tourism will work together on global marketing campaigns and promotional initiatives through digital platforms, social media, inflight branding and other consumer outreach channels.
The collaboration will also explore opportunities to extend the Incredible India brand presence across Air India’s various passenger touchpoints, aiming to highlight India’s cultural heritage, natural attractions and diverse travel experiences among international visitors.
Air India Chief Commercial Officer Nipun Aggarwal said the airline, which carries India’s name globally, has a responsibility to showcase the country and represent a confident, vibrant and welcoming “new India” to the world.
He said Air India’s expanding international network would help bring greater global attention to India’s tourism potential.
The airline said its international operations currently cover 40 destinations across five continents, including North America, the UK and Europe, Australia, Africa and Asia. These regions collectively represent a significant share of the global population and provide a wide platform for promoting India as a travel destination.
The partnership will use Air India’s aircraft fleet, digital platforms, inflight services and international presence as channels to showcase the Incredible India campaign to travellers worldwide.
The initiative comes as India seeks to expand its global tourism footprint and attract more international visitors by improving connectivity, visibility and travel experiences.
