Actress Mahira Sharma has opened up about recreating the iconic song “Mujhko Ranaji Maaf Karna”, saying she aimed to bring her own style and energy while preserving the essence of the original track.
Speaking about the recreated version titled “Ranaji 2.0”, Mahira said there was a sense of responsibility attached to presenting a song that already holds a special place among audiences.
“There’s always a little pressure when you’re associated with such an iconic song because people already have so many memories attached to it. I just wanted to bring my own energy to it while staying true to its vibe,” she said.
The actress added that the music, choreography and visual presentation have come together to create an entertaining experience, expressing hope that audiences enjoy watching the track as much as the team enjoyed creating it.
The new version features Mahira Sharma and has been choreographed by filmmaker and choreographer Remo D’Souza. Music composer Tanishk Bagchi has recreated the track with a contemporary sound while retaining the original vocals of Ila Arun and Alka Yagnik, whose voices helped make the song memorable.
Talking about the choreography, Remo D’Souza said the challenge was to create visuals that feel fresh while matching the energy of a song already loved by generations of listeners. He added that the aim was to make the recreated version appealing to both longtime fans and new audiences.
Tanishk Bagchi said the focus while recreating the song was to maintain its original charm while giving it a modern musical treatment.
Tips Music has released “Ranaji 2.0”, a recreation of “Mujhko Ranaji Maaf Karna” from Shah Rukh Khan-starrer cult classic film “Karan Arjun”.
