Re-NEET 2026: Rajasthan deploys jammers, CCTV at 577 centres; 2.09 lakh to appear

Jaipur, June 20, 2026

Rajasthan has put in place extensive security arrangements for the re-conduct of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) on Sunday, with over 2.09 lakh candidates set to appear across 577 centres in 25 districts.

Authorities have installed HD-quality CCTV cameras and signal jammers at examination centres to prevent malpractice and ensure a fair examination process

According to officials, mobile networks might remain disrupted in the vicinity of many centres due to the deployment of jammers. Several districts have also declared no-entry zones and imposed additional restrictions around examination venues.

The examination will be conducted from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., while candidate entry will begin at 11 a.m. and close strictly at 1:30 p.m. To facilitate travel for candidates, Indian Railways has announced seven special trains on different routes, including Rewari–Bathinda, Barmer–Bhagat Ki Kothi, Bhagat Ki Kothi–Jaipur, Madar–Rewari, Rewari–Jaipur, Jodhpur–Sanganer and Bikaner–Dhehar Ka Balaji.

Alwar district has set up 27 examination centres for nearly 10,000 candidates. CCTV surveillance and jammers have been installed at every centre to ensure strict monitoring. Authorities have also intensified vigilance across the city ahead of the examination.

The Special Operations Group (SOG) has issued a helpline number (9530429258) for reporting any information related to examination irregularities. In Udaipur, 29 centres have been designated for the examination. A district-level monitoring committee has been constituted, comprising senior administrative, police and education officials. Candidates will be allowed entry only upon producing their e-admit card and a valid photo identity card. Signal jammers will also be operational at all centres. A total of 2,256 candidates are registered at six centres in Sri Ganganagar.

Authorities have declared a 300-metre no-entry zone around each examination centre. The district cyber cell and social media monitoring teams have been activated for round-the-clock surveillance of platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Telegram, WhatsApp and Snapchat. As per NTA guidelines, one duty magistrate and one senior police officer have been deployed at every centre.

Photocopy shops and cyber cafés located near examination venues will remain closed on the day of the examination. Backup power arrangements have also been made through generators. Ajmer district has set up 15 examination centres, including nine in Ajmer city and six in Kishangarh. A total of 6,231 candidates will appear for the examination in the district.

In Jodhpur, nearly 15,000 candidates will take the test at 46 centres. Dedicated teams of administrative and police officials have been deployed to monitor all venues through physical inspections and CCTV surveillance.

The NEET-UG examination was originally held on May 3, but allegations of question paper leaks and advance access to examination material surfaced from multiple states. Following investigations into suspected irregularities, the National Testing Agency (NTA) cancelled the examination on May 12 and ordered a re-test.

As part of efforts to curb the spread of leaked content, restrictions imposed on Telegram in connection with the examination will remain in force until June 22, while the platform’s message-editing feature has reportedly been disabled until June 30. Authorities have urged candidates to reach their centres well before the reporting time and strictly follow examination guidelines to avoid last-minute inconvenience.(Agency)
