Marking World Tiger Day, Royal Ranthambore Whisky, the premium whisky brand from Radico Khaitan Ltd., has reaffirmed its commitment to wildlife conservation through a partnership with The Corbett Foundation aimed at supporting tiger conservation and habitat protection in India.
The collaboration aligns the brand’s identity, inspired by the famed Ranthambore tiger landscape, with initiatives focused on preserving wildlife habitats, promoting biodiversity and strengthening coexistence between local communities and wildlife.
India has recorded significant progress in tiger conservation over the past decade. According to the latest All India Tiger Estimation, the country’s tiger population increased from 2,967 in 2018 to an estimated average of 3,682 in 2022, reflecting an annual growth rate of 6.1 per cent. India is now home to more than 70 per cent of the world’s wild tiger population.
The company noted that while Project Tiger has expanded from nine reserves in 1973 to 58 reserves covering nearly 84,500 square kilometres across 18 states, nearly one-third of India’s tigers continue to live outside protected reserves. This underscores the importance of wildlife corridors, habitat connectivity and community participation in conservation efforts.
Earlier this year, Royal Ranthambore introduced its Royal Ranthambore Heritage Collection, comprising six limited-edition collectible packs inspired by iconic Indian tigers and designed using traditional Indian art forms. The collection seeks to celebrate the country’s wildlife heritage while raising awareness about tiger conservation.
Under the partnership, The Corbett Foundation will continue its work across forest landscapes through initiatives including veterinary care and livestock health camps, habitat restoration, biodiversity monitoring and community-based programmes that encourage harmonious coexistence between people and wildlife.
Kunal Madan, Chief Marketing Officer, Radico Khaitan Ltd., said the tiger has always been central to the Royal Ranthambore brand’s identity and represents India’s rich natural and cultural heritage.
“Our partnership with The Corbett Foundation reflects our commitment to supporting meaningful conservation efforts and helping preserve this legacy for future generations. World Tiger Day reminds us that protecting India’s wildlife requires sustained and collective action,” he said.
