Indian boxer Lovlina Borgohain has dedicated her Commonwealth Games silver medal to the people affected by the devastating floods in Assam, a gesture that has resonated deeply across her home state and added emotional significance to her latest international achievement.
The Olympic medallist secured the silver medal at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and chose to dedicate the honour to thousands of flood-affected families in Assam, where widespread flooding has displaced residents and caused extensive damage in several districts.
