Punjab has achieved 100 per cent digitisation of enumeration forms across all 117 Assembly constituencies during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026, marking a significant milestone ahead of the conclusion of the door-to-door enumeration exercise.
The achievement comes on the 39th day of the statewide enumeration campaign, with the exercise scheduled to conclude on August 3, 2026.
Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Punjab, Anindita Mitra, said the successful completion of the digitisation process within the stipulated timeline reflects the commitment and coordinated efforts of the election machinery engaged in the revision exercise.
She commended the work of District Election Officers (DEOs), Deputy Electoral Registration Officers (Deputy EROs), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), Supervisors and Booth Level Officers (BLOs), whose collective efforts ensured that the digitisation process was completed in every Assembly constituency across the state.
Mitra said the large-scale exercise required meticulous planning, extensive fieldwork and seamless coordination among election officials at various levels. She noted that the accomplishment highlights the efficiency and dedication of the teams involved in implementing the Special Intensive Revision programme.
Expressing appreciation for the election staff, the CEO said every official associated with the exercise deserves recognition for contributing to the successful completion of this crucial phase of the electoral roll revision process.
The Special Intensive Revision is a key electoral exercise aimed at updating and strengthening the accuracy of electoral rolls through comprehensive field verification and collection of voter-related information.
