The Spice Girls have sent fans on a nostalgic trip after sharing a three-decade-old photograph featuring all five members alongside the Backstreet Boys, celebrating one of the most iconic moments of 1990s pop culture.
The throwback image, posted on the group’s official Instagram account, is believed to have been taken in 1996 during the early years of both acts’ meteoric rise to international fame. It features Mel B, Emma Bunton, Victoria Beckham, Melanie C and Geri Halliwell posing with Backstreet Boys members Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, AJ McLean, Brian Littrell and Kevin Richardson.
Accompanying the image, the Spice Girls wrote: “Find us a more ’90s photo than this. 30 years since this moment with the @backstreetboys.” The post quickly resonated with fans, rekindling memories of an era dominated by chart-topping pop music and global fan frenzy.
The Spice Girls remain the best-selling girl group in music history, with worldwide record sales exceeding 100 million. Their “Girl Power” message became a defining cultural movement of the 1990s, helping reshape the image of female pop groups while inspiring a generation of young fans.
