PM Modi’s ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva Abhiyaan’ Key to Building a Stronger India: Kewal Singh Dhillon

Chandigarh, August 2, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Punjab President Kewal Singh Dhillon on Sunday described Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva Abhiyaan’ as a landmark campaign aimed at protecting the country’s youth from drug abuse and strengthening the foundation of a developed India.

In a statement, Dhillon said the Prime Minister has consistently prioritised the welfare of the younger generation and has taken sustained initiatives to combat substance abuse. He said the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ can only be realised with a healthy, empowered and responsible youth population.

According to Dhillon, the nationwide campaign will encourage young people to reject drugs and actively contribute to nation-building through education, innovation, entrepreneurship and social participation.

Turning to the situation in Punjab, the BJP leader criticised the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, alleging that it had failed to fulfil its promise of eliminating the drug menace within three months of assuming office. He claimed that despite being in power for more than four-and-a-half years, the state government has not been able to effectively curb drug abuse.

Dhillon alleged that while the Centre has adopted a sustained approach to tackling narcotics, the Punjab government has relied more on publicity than concrete action. He further claimed that the continuing spread of the drug network has adversely affected families and placed the future of the state’s youth at risk.

Calling the Prime Minister’s campaign a significant step in the fight against drug addiction, Dhillon said BJP workers across Punjab would take the message of the ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva Abhiyaan’ to villages, towns and cities to encourage greater public participation in creating a drug-free society.

He also appealed to the youth of Punjab to stay away from narcotics and focus on education, sports, skill development and employment opportunities, asserting that the BJP-led Central Government remains committed to securing a brighter future for the country’s younger generation.
