Jagan Mohan Reddy accuses Naidu government of vendetta politics, vows to fight alleged misuse of power

Hyderabad, August 2, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Sunday accused the Andhra Pradesh government led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of pursuing “politics of vendetta” against political opponents and alleged that the administration was using police action to silence criticism.

In a post on X, the former Andhra Pradesh chief minister said political power and police authority were not permanent, asserting that his party would continue to oppose what he described as “authoritarian governance” and stand with those facing alleged injustice.

“False cases are not permanent. No matter how many cases you file, how many midnight arrests you carry out, or how many police personnel you deploy, the YSR Congress Party will not retreat,” Jagan said.

He also reiterated his demand for the resignation of Education Minister Nara Lokesh over alleged irregularities in the District Selection Committee (DSC)-2025 teacher recruitment process. Jagan questioned why a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry had not been ordered into the matter.

The YSRCP chief raised several other issues, including pending payments under the Vidya Deevena and Vasathi Deevena schemes, the government’s decision regarding unemployment allowance, and alleged dues claimed by unemployed youth.

Jagan alleged that the state government was diverting attention from public concerns by filing cases against opposition leaders and workers. He further claimed that ruling party members involved in attacks were being protected while YSRCP supporters faced criminal cases.

The Andhra Pradesh government has not issued a response to the allegations in the statement.

Jagan said his party would continue to question the government and hold it accountable on issues concerning people’s welfare and governance.
