Actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has shared her views on personal freedom and responsibility after an interaction with two Gen Z women, saying that freedom should be accompanied by accountability.
In a post on Instagram Stories on Sunday, Kangana said she met two Gen Z girls at a gym who spoke about growing up in the digital era, where social media, artificial intelligence and online platforms have become part of everyday life.
The actress said she told them that people are free to choose their lifestyle as long as their actions do not harm others.
Kangana referred to recent criminal incidents involving young people while discussing the need for responsibility alongside individual freedom. She said the younger generation should understand that personal choices must not come at the cost of others’ safety.
Sharing her conversation, she wrote that the girls agreed with the idea that “freedom needs accountability” and wished her Gen Z followers on Friendship Day.
Kangana’s remarks come amid recent criticism surrounding her comments on the younger generation. The actress had earlier faced backlash after referring to Gen Z as the “gutter generation”, which triggered criticism and public reactions.
The actress has often used social media to express her views on social issues, culture and changing social trends.
