Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday said the state government is committed to improving the quality of education in government schools and upgrading their infrastructure to provide students with modern learning facilities.
Chairing a review meeting of the School Education Department in Chandigarh, Saini said new buildings for 150 government schools would be developed, with their design and construction based on successful models adopted by leading states and reputed institutions across the country.
Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda was also present during the meeting, where various departmental schemes and initiatives aimed at promoting quality and modern education were reviewed.
The Chief Minister directed officials to focus on strengthening 719 Model Schools across Haryana, including Sansriti Model Schools, Chief Minister’s Early English and Excellence Schools, and PM-SHRI Schools.
He instructed authorities to ensure timely availability of essential facilities, including additional classrooms, separate toilets, boundary walls, playgrounds, science and computer laboratories, digital labs, smart classrooms, libraries, furniture, tablets and other modern teaching resources.
Saini also directed the Finance Department and Education Department officials to ensure that adequate funds are made available for these development projects and that construction work is completed within the stipulated timelines.
He said government schools would be transformed through digital and smart classrooms, artificial intelligence-based learning facilities, vocational education programmes, advanced science and computer laboratories, and digital libraries.
The Chief Minister said the objective is to create a high-quality learning environment where government schools can emerge as centres of excellence and serve as models for educational development across the state.
He called upon officials to implement the plan in a time-bound manner and work towards making Haryana a leading state in school education.
