Actor Hrithik Roshan has responded to the recent social media trend around “We need to apologise to Hrithik Roshan”, which resurfaced amid criticism of actor-politician Kangana Ranaut over her remarks on Gen Z.
Reacting to a post by social media user Freddy Birdy, Hrithik urged people not to rush to conclusions and said discussions should be based on facts and proper context.
“My friend, siding with ‘A’ just because you don’t like ‘B’ anymore is a small part of the larger systemic issue plaguing our society. I’ll wait, for when the context to it is the right one, and motivated by facts. That would be fair. I’ll wait. But then again, who cares anymore right?” Hrithik wrote in the comment section.
The online trend gained momentum after CJP’s Saurav Das made a remark comparing himself to a younger Hrithik Roshan while responding to comments allegedly made by Kangana. His statement led social media users to revisit the much-publicised 2016 legal dispute between Hrithik and Kangana.
The controversy had begun after Kangana referred to Hrithik as her “silly ex” during a media interaction. Hrithik denied any romantic relationship between the two and later sent a legal notice seeking an apology.
Kangana responded with a counter notice, accusing Hrithik of harassment. The matter eventually involved investigations, with reports stating that Hrithik submitted evidence, including electronic devices and other documents, while Kangana reportedly did not provide certain devices citing damage.
In 2021, investigators submitted a closure report in the case due to lack of sufficient evidence.
Hrithik’s latest comments come as social media discussions around the old dispute have once again gained attention.
