Actor Gauahar Khan has publicly defended her husband, Zaid Darbar, after an upcoming episode of the reality show Alliance appeared to show fellow contestant Arsalan Goni using abusive language against him during a private conversation.
The controversy surfaced after a fan club shared a promotional clip from the show on social media. In the video, contestants Aly Goni, Arsalan Goni and Daisy are seen discussing Zaid Darbar, during which Arsalan allegedly abuses him and remarks that he has “gone mad.”
Reacting strongly to the clip, Gauahar reposted the video on her Instagram Stories and criticised Arsalan for making the remarks behind her husband’s back.
“Shameful words for someone, that too behind his back. Guts hai toh samne gaali do (If you have the guts, abuse him in front of Zaid). Jab ace banne ke liye vote diya tha tab toh gaali nahi di thi Arsalan. Apni soch dikhate hai,” she wrote.
Gauahar’s response quickly drew attention on social media, with fans weighing in on the apparent disagreement among the contestants.
Gauahar and Zaid Darbar married in 2020 and are parents to two sons, Zehaan, born in 2023, and Farwaan, born in 2025.
Alliance, which premiered on June 26, is hosted by Kunal Kemmu and is the first international adaptation of Talpa Studios’ acclaimed Dutch reality format created by John de Mol. Produced by Banijay Asia, the Hindi-language series features 16 contestants navigating shifting alliances, strategic gameplay and betrayals in pursuit of the grand prize.
Gauahar Khan first gained recognition as a model before winning Bigg Boss 7 in 2013. She made her acting debut with Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year and has since appeared in films including Game, Ishaqzaade, Fever, Badrinath Ki Dulhania and Begum Jaan.
