A report has raised concerns over the alleged role of Qatar, Turkey and Pakistan in supporting groups and ideologies linked to Islamic extremism, claiming that their policies and associations have become a matter of international security debate.
The report by Uzay Bulut, published by the Jerusalem News Syndicate (JNS), alleged that Qatar and Turkey have provided support to the Muslim Brotherhood, while Pakistan has been described as a country facing long-standing challenges related to militant organisations.
According to the report, Qatar has emerged as a major financial and political centre for the Muslim Brotherhood and has used platforms such as Al Jazeera to extend the group’s influence internationally. It cited researcher Claudia De Martino, who said Doha’s approach has helped the country expand its regional soft power.
The report also alleged that Turkey, under President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has maintained close links with the Muslim Brotherhood and provided support to Hamas, which is designated as a terrorist organisation by the United States.
It further claimed that Turkey’s role in Syria and its relationship with groups operating in the region have drawn international attention.
Regarding Pakistan, the report cited concerns over the presence and activities of groups including Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and other organisations designated by the United Nations. It alleged that militant groups based across the border have been involved in attacks targeting civilians.
The report also referred to comments by former Pakistani diplomat Abdul Basit regarding possible military responses during geopolitical tensions with India.
The allegations and assessments cited in the report reflect one perspective in ongoing debates over terrorism, regional security and foreign policy.
