Actor Nauheed Cyrusi has shared a deeply personal account of her journey through pregnancy loss, revealing that she experienced two miscarriages before deciding to let go of the idea of having children. In an emotional post on Instagram, the actress said the difficult experiences eventually led her and her husband to dedicate their lives to the welfare of animals.
Nauheed said she married in 2017 and conceived the following year. However, during a routine medical check-up in the third month of pregnancy, doctors informed the couple that there was no fetal heartbeat, resulting in a miscarriage.
Recalling that period, she said the loss prompted them to adopt Jojo, an elderly Cocker Spaniel with impaired vision and hearing, from the SPCA. She described the adoption as a turning point in their lives.
The actress further revealed that she became pregnant again during the COVID-19 pandemic, but the second pregnancy also ended in miscarriage. Following the repeated losses, she and her husband began reflecting on their purpose and concluded that their lives could be devoted to caring for animals in need.
Nauheed said they consciously decided against pursuing IVF treatment, believing that parenthood would happen naturally if it was meant to. She added that, now in her 40s, she is content with the path they have chosen and remains committed to supporting animal welfare, much of which has been carried out away from the public eye.
Best known for films such as Anwar, Nauheed said she hoped sharing her story would answer questions surrounding her personal life while also highlighting the meaningful role animals have played in helping the couple heal.
