PM Modi likely to visit Gujarat on September 8; preparations underway in Vadodara, Navsari

Vadodara, August 29, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit Gujarat on September 8, with preparations underway in Vadodara and Navsari for programmes likely to include the inauguration of infrastructure and other development projects.

In Vadodara, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi visited the city ahead of the proposed tour and inspected arrangements at Maharaja Sayajirao University, where Modi is likely to attend a programme at the university pavilion.

A roadshow followed by a public meeting is also being considered as part of the preliminary programme. Modi is additionally expected to inaugurate Sardardham-3 in Vadodara and various infrastructure, railway and industrial projects associated with the city and the state.

Senior state and Central government leaders have been reviewing preparations for the proposed visit.

In Navsari, Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil held a meeting with officials, elected representatives and organisational leaders to review arrangements for Modi’s proposed programme.

“Security arrangements, cleanliness, the venue, parking and other requirements were reviewed in detail. Necessary instructions and guidance had been given to ensure the programme is conducted smoothly and in an orderly manner,” Patil said in a post on X.

State Finance Minister Kanu Desai, Tribal Development Minister Naresh Patel, MLAs, party office-bearers and senior administrative and police officials attended the meeting.

Patil had also inspected the proposed programme venue in Navsari a day earlier and reviewed preparations. Another meeting was held in the presence of Sanghavi with local public representatives, organisational office-bearers and administrative officials.

Recent reports have suggested that Modi may inaugurate the new ‘Namo Kamalam’ office of the BJP’s Navsari district unit during the visit. The facility, located near Kabilpore along the National Highway, has reportedly been constructed at a cost of more than Rs 10 crore and covers around 40,000 square feet.

However, the final itinerary and details of the programmes in Vadodara and Navsari, including the proposed roadshow, are yet to be officially announced.
