Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone has announced the engagement of his daughter Sophia Stallone to her boyfriend Michael Sheehan, sharing his excitement as the family celebrates the happy occasion.
Stallone took to Instagram to share two pictures marking the engagement. In the first, the actor posed with Sophia as she showed off her engagement ring. The second featured Stallone with his wife Jennifer Flavin, Sophia and his future son-in-law Sheehan.
Sharing the news with his followers, Stallone wrote, “We are so ecstatic about the engagement of our daughter Sophia to Michael!”
The engagement announcement coincided with Sophia’s 30th birthday. Earlier, Stallone had celebrated the milestone with a heartfelt social media post.
“30 years of making us proud. Happy birthday to my amazing daughter Sophia!!! We love you always @sophiastallone,” he wrote.
Sophia is the eldest of Stallone and Jennifer Flavin’s three daughters. Stallone and Flavin began their relationship in 1988 and married in May 1997. The couple also have daughters Sistine and Scarlet.
The three sisters previously shared the role of Golden Globe Ambassador at the 74th Golden Globe Awards.
On the professional front, Stallone’s biopic I Play Rocky is scheduled to arrive in Indian theatres on November 13, a week after its limited theatrical release in the US.
The film chronicles Stallone’s journey from a struggling actor with limited opportunities to the Hollywood star who created the iconic character Rocky Balboa. It focuses on the period when Stallone, despite financial difficulties and repeated setbacks, remained determined to write and star in a film that could transform his life.
Stallone made his screen debut in 1970 with The Party at Kitty and Stud’s. Before achieving global fame, he appeared in several films in uncredited roles, including Downhill Racer and Bananas.
