Bihar government transfers 83 officers in major administrative and police reshuffle

The Bihar government has transferred 83 officers in a late-night administrative reshuffle, including 56 Bihar Administrative Service officers and 27 Bihar Police Service officers.

The General Administration Department issued the notification for the administrative officers late on Saturday, while the Home Department issued a separate order transferring the police officers.

Among the Bihar Administrative Service officers, several who were awaiting posting have been assigned new responsibilities. Rakesh Kumar has been appointed Deputy Secretary in the Road Construction Department, Manish Kumar as Deputy Secretary in the General Administration Department and Abhinav Kumar as Deputy Secretary in the Youth, Employment and Skill Development Department.

Anil Kumar has been posted as Officer on Special Duty in the Dairy, Fisheries and Animal Resources Department, while Abhishek Kumar has been appointed Deputy Secretary in the Urban Development and Housing Department.

Vandana Sinha will serve as Deputy Secretary in the Art and Culture Department, Suvir Ranjan as Deputy Secretary in the Water Resources Department and Avinash Kumar as Deputy Secretary in the Revenue and Land Reforms Department.

Several officers have been assigned district-level responsibilities. Neeraj Kumar has been appointed Settlement Officer of Sheikhpura, Prabhat Kumar of Munger, Shankar Sharan Ommi of Purnia and Sandeep Kumar of Jehanabad.

Ritu Rani has been posted as Senior Deputy Collector of Gopalganj, Amit Vikram Baina of Rohtas, Nikhil Kumar of Saharsa and Nidhi Raj of West Champaran. Santosh Kumar has been appointed Sub-Divisional Officer of Gopalganj, while Pooja Kumari will serve as SDO of Rosera in Samastipur.

The Home Department notification also announced transfers involving 27 Bihar Police Service officers.

Son Kumar Rai has been appointed Superintendent of Police (Administration), Patna. Umeshwar Choudhary will serve as SDPO of Phulwari Sharif, while Premchand Singh has been posted as SDPO of Chapra Sadar.

Polast Kumar has been appointed SDPO of Mahua in Vaishali, Sushil Kumar of Ara Sadar and Prashant Kumar of Begusarai Sadar. Gulshan Kumar has been posted as Deputy Superintendent of Police, Rail Gaya.

Rajesh Kumar has been appointed SDPO of Hathua, Gopalganj; Ajit Pratap Singh Chauhan of Dhamdaha, Purnia; Amarkant of Manjhaul, Begusarai; and Satish Suman of Samastipur Sadar.

Pankaj Kumar Mishra has been posted as SDPO of Motihari Sadar, Gorakh Ram of Dumraon, Anand Mohan Gupta of Siwan Sadar, Nishikant Bharti of Simri Bakhtiyarpur in Saharsa and Chandra Bhushan of Daudnagar in Aurangabad.

Police officers from the 2024 and 2025 batches have also been included in the reshuffle. Abhinav Kumar has been assigned Wazirganj in Gaya, Pankaj Kumar Singh Triveniganj in Supaul, Pawan Kumar Birpur in Supaul and Pawan Kumar Singh Udakishunganj in Madhepura.

The large-scale reshuffle is expected to strengthen administrative coordination and improve the functioning of departments and districts across the state.
