Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has ordered a major reshuffle in the Union Territory’s Police Department, involving 14 senior officers at the levels of Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Inspector General of Police (IGP), Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP).
According to an order issued by the Home Department, M.K. Sinha, IPS (AGMUT:1996), ADG Headquarters, has been transferred and posted as ADG CID, J&K, replacing Nitish Kumar, IPS.
Nitish Kumar, IPS (AGMUT:1999), ADG CID, J&K, has been posted as ADG Armed Police, J&K, against an available vacancy.
Uttam Chand, IPS (AGMUT:2002), IGP (Police Operations & Services), Police Headquarters, has been transferred as IGP Railways, J&K, replacing Vivek Gupta. He will also continue to hold additional charge of IGP (Police Operations & Services), PHQ, until further orders.
Bhim Sen Tuti, IPS (AGMUT:2004), IG Jammu Zone, has been posted as IG Headquarters, J&K, while Sujit Kumar, IPS (AGMUT:2007), IG Security, has been appointed IG Kashmir Zone.
Vivek Gupta, IPS (AGMUT:2007), has been posted as IGP Security, J&K, replacing Sujit Kumar, while Tejinder Singh, IPS (AGMUT:2008), IG CID, has been appointed IG Jammu Zone in place of Tuti.
Shakti Kumar Pathak, IPS (AGMUT:2009), has been designated Director of the Anti-Corruption Bureau.
At the DIG level, Mubassir Latifi Ameer, IPS (AGMUT:2011), has been transferred from DIG Personnel, PHQ, with additional charge of DIG Training, and posted as DIG IR Kashmir.
Sahil Sarangal, IPS (AGMUT:2017), has been posted as SSP Pulwama, while Sunny Gupta, IPS (AGMUT:2020), Additional SP Anantnag, has been appointed SSP Kishtwar, replacing Naresh Singh.
Tahir Saleem Khan (JKPS:2001), SO to IG Kashmir Zone, has been posted as SSP Handwara in place of Sarangal. Muzaffar Ahmad Shah (JKPS:2004), SSP SCW Kashmir, has been appointed SO to IG Kashmir Zone, replacing Khan.
Naresh Singh (JKPS:2004), SSP Kishtwar, has been transferred and posted as SSP Rajouri against an available vacancy.
The reshuffle order was issued by the Lieutenant Governor.
