Comedian and television personality Bharti Singh became emotional on Raksha Bandhan after members of the paparazzi fraternity surprised her with gifts and celebrated the festival with her.
A video circulating on social media shows Bharti interacting with photographers when they presented her with gifts. The gesture visibly moved the comedian, who was seen wiping away tears.
Bharti also performed aarti and tied rakhi to some members of the paparazzi. One photographer gifted her an idol of Lord Ganesha, while others presented her with gifts on the occasion.
Thanking the photographers, Bharti said she had never experienced a situation where members of the media gave a gift to someone they regularly cover.
“Thank you guys. Thank you so much. I have never seen in my life that the media is giving a gift to someone,” she said.
Bharti went on to describe the bond she shares with some photographers, saying she considers them like brothers despite not meeting them frequently.
“But there are some people with whom I feel like a brother. I don’t meet them often, but today I shook hands with them. Something strange happened,” she said.
The comedian then expressed her desire to continue the brother-sister bond, asking the paparazzi to visit her wherever she might be shooting on Raksha Bandhan in the future. The photographers responded that they would.
Bharti is known for her friendly equation and light-hearted exchanges with paparazzi during public appearances. Last year, she was seen joking with photographers during her baby shower after they commented about her pregnancy. Responding playfully, she said, “Twins nahi hai bhai.”
The latest Raksha Bandhan celebration offered another glimpse of the informal camaraderie Bharti shares with the photographers who frequently cover her public appearances.
