The Madhya Pradesh Home Department on Saturday issued orders transferring and assigning additional responsibilities to four senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers as part of a fresh administrative reshuffle.
Under the orders, 1995-batch IPS officer Chanchal Shekhar has been appointed Director of the Sports and Youth Welfare Department. His services have been placed at the disposal of the department, and he will hold the responsibility until further orders.
Shekhar was earlier holding additional charges as Additional Director General of Police (Special Armed Force) and Additional Director General of Police (State Industrial Security Force).
The department has assigned 1998-batch IPS officer Anshuman Yadav the additional charges of Additional Director General of Police (Intelligence) and Additional Director General of Police (Cyber). His services have been withdrawn from the Sports and Youth Welfare Department to facilitate the new assignments.
Meanwhile, 1993-batch IPS officer Anil Kumar will continue as Special Director General of Police (Women Safety). He has also been given the additional charge of Special Director General of Police (AJAK).
D. Srinivas Verma, a 1997-batch IPS officer, has been assigned additional responsibilities as Additional Director General of Police (Special Armed Force) and Additional Director General of Police (State Industrial Security Force).
Verma will continue to hold his existing additional charges as Additional Director General of Police (Narcotics) and Additional Director General of Police (Special Task Force), alongside the newly assigned responsibilities.
The latest changes are expected to strengthen coordination among specialised police units and improve administrative oversight of the Sports and Youth Welfare Department. The reshuffle also seeks to bolster intelligence gathering, cyber security operations and industrial security arrangements across Madhya Pradesh.
