Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat will interact with representatives of Generation Z and Generation Alpha in Mumbai on August 6 during the inaugural ceremony of the 15th Annual Championship Conference of India’s International Movement to Unite Nations (I.I.M.U.N.).
The event will bring together more than 2,000 school students aged between 15 and 19 from over 100 cities across India. The conference is themed “The Role of Youth in Uniting the World, the Indian Way” and will provide a platform for students to discuss local, national and global issues.
According to the organisers, Bhagwat’s address will mark the beginning of the multi-day conference featuring student-led debates, discussions and policy deliberations.
I.I.M.U.N. founder Rishabh Shah said meaningful engagement with young people requires not only guiding the next generation but also listening to their perspectives.
“At this critical juncture in India’s journey, we need this dialogue more than ever before,” Shah said.
The interaction comes amid renewed discussions on youth participation, education reforms and social issues following recent student protests over examination-related concerns.
In recent remarks, Bhagwat described Gen Z as capable, adaptable and emotionally driven, while emphasising the importance of thoughtful decision-making and open communication. He has also highlighted the need for families to engage with young people through dialogue rather than authority.
Bhagwat has expressed concern over excessive screen usage among youth and suggested that parents should lead by example by adopting responsible digital habits.
The RSS chief’s interaction with young students is also taking place amid broader discussions on handling youth movements and public responses after protests related to examination issues.
