The BJP on Tuesday termed the Congress government led by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy a “complete failure” as it completed 1,000 days in office, alleging that the ruling party had failed to deliver on its electoral guarantees.
Speaking to IANS, BJP leader Avinash Devda said the government had failed on every front and claimed that none of the Congress guarantees had been fulfilled.
“I consider these 1,000 days of the Congress government a complete failure. A full 1,000 days of failure. Every single day of this Congress government has been a failure. Not a single guarantee of theirs has been fulfilled; all their guarantees have failed,” Devda said.
He also criticised the government over civic problems in Hyderabad, particularly mosquito control, alleging that inadequate pest-control measures had allowed the issue to become a matter of wider public attention.
BJP leader Manmeet Singh accused the government of failing to implement promises aimed at students, women and other sections. He claimed that proposed benefits including electric two-wheelers for students and one tola of gold for marriages had not been implemented.
Singh also targeted the Indiramma Illu housing scheme, alleging that it existed largely through announcements and signboards and claiming that no one had been allotted a 2BHK house.
He further alleged that Revanth Reddy had sent thousands of crores of rupees to Congress leaders in Delhi, including a claim that Rs 7,500 crore had been sent to the residences of Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi. These allegations could not be independently verified.
The Congress defended the government’s record. Party leader Zaheer Lalani said Telangana had made significant progress during the 1,000-day period and highlighted welfare programmes including fine rice for beneficiaries, free bus travel for women, the Mahalakshmi scheme, Indiramma Illu and free power.
Meanwhile, the BRS is preparing a statewide campaign portraying the Congress government’s tenure as one of “betrayal” and administrative failure.
The Congress government’s 1,000-day narrative centres on agriculture, women’s welfare, employment, infrastructure, investment and economic growth. Revanth Reddy has said Telangana’s per-capita income reached Rs 4,18,931 in 2025-26, around 91 per cent above the national figure.
He has also highlighted a farm loan waiver benefiting more than 25 lakh families, Rs 36,000 crore in Rythu Bharosa support and record paddy procurement.
Government claims have additionally cited Rs 1.29 lakh crore in investments secured through TG-iPASS and Rs 5.75 lakh crore in agreements signed at the Telangana Rising Global Summit.
