Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal has appointed seven young leaders as working presidents of the Youth Akali Dal and assigned them charge of seven Lok Sabha constituencies, following consultations with Youth Akali Dal president Sarabjit Singh Jhinjer.
The party also announced new district-level appointments and organisational positions in Punjab.
Sharing the details from the party headquarters, Sarabjit Singh Jhinjer said seven young and dedicated leaders had been appointed as working presidents of the Youth Akali Dal, with each also entrusted with the responsibility of a Lok Sabha constituency.
The appointees are Akashdeep Singh Middukhera for Bathinda, Harinder Singh Mehraaj for Faridkot (SC), Lovepreet Singh Lappi Eena Khera for Ferozepur, Harpal Singh Khadial for Sangrur, Manjit Singh Malkpur for Patiala, Harjot Singh Mangat for Fatehgarh Sahib (SC), and Gursewak Singh Sheikh for Khadoor Sahib.
Jhinjer also announced appointments to district-level positions. Avtar Singh Jagal has been appointed president of Barnala (Urban), while Rupinderjit Singh Lakhewal will head the Ropar (Rural) unit and Taranjit Singh Tarni will serve as president of the Ropar (Urban) unit.
In other organisational appointments, Baljinder Singh Mithu of Ropar and Mohan Singh Nangal Abiyana have been appointed vice-presidents.
Manpreet Singh Gill of Ropar and Lakhwinder Singh Lucky Khairabad have been appointed organising secretaries of the Youth Akali Dal.
Jhinjer said the appointments were aimed at further strengthening the party’s youth organisation and expanding its grassroots presence across Punjab.
