Vadodara Lok Sabha MP Hemang Joshi formally assumed charge as the National President of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) in New Delhi on Monday, pledging to work closely with young people, understand their aspirations and channelise their energy towards nation-building.
Speaking at an event organised at the BJP headquarters, the 35-year-old leader said the collective objective would be to contribute to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047.
“India’s youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow, but active partners in the transformation of the country today,” Joshi said.
He described the country’s youth power as its greatest strength and said the BJYM would work to connect young people across India with the vision of a developed India by 2047.
“Our focus will be on strengthening the organisation at the grassroots level, increasing youth participation and creating platforms where young Indians can convert their ideas, innovations and aspirations into meaningful actions,” he said.
Joshi began the day by offering prayers at the historic Hanuman temple in New Delhi before formally taking charge of the organisation.
He assumed office in the presence of BJP National General Secretary and BJYM National In-Charge Sunil Bansal, outgoing BJYM National President and Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya, and executive members from across the country.
Bansal underlined the role of BJYM workers in nation-building and said the organisation’s strength lay in nurturing young leaders who could contribute across different sectors of society.
“The BJYM not only prepares political workers, but it prepares nation builders,” Bansal said, adding that its workers would contribute as teachers, professors, scientists, entrepreneurs, professionals, social workers and in other fields.
He said young leaders trained through the organisation would work towards strengthening both society and the nation.
