CENTCOM Says US Redirected 24 Commercial Vessels Amid Ongoing Iran Blockade

Washington, July 31, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has released fresh operational details of its maritime enforcement measures against Iran, stating that American forces have redirected 24 commercial vessels, boarded two ships and disabled two others as part of the ongoing blockade in the region.

In an update posted on X, CENTCOM said the operation is being supported by US Navy warships, reconnaissance aircraft and thousands of military personnel deployed across the Middle East to monitor regional waters and enforce the blockade.

The command shared an image of a US Navy P-8 Poseidon reconnaissance aircraft receiving aerial refuelling from a US Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker, describing the surveillance platform as one of several assets engaged in monitoring maritime activity.

According to CENTCOM, as of July 30, US forces had redirected 24 commercial vessels, boarded two and disabled two to ensure compliance with the blockade measures.

The latest statement followed earlier remarks by CENTCOM rejecting what it described as misinformation circulated by Iranian state media and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

CENTCOM specifically disputed Iranian claims that commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz had become unsafe because of US actions, asserting instead that threats to civilian shipping stemmed from the IRGC’s warnings and attempted attacks.

The command also denied reports that three US F-35 fighter aircraft and three other military planes had been destroyed during a recent Iranian strike on an American air base, stating that no US aircraft were damaged and that all missiles and drones launched in the alleged attack were either intercepted or failed to reach their intended targets.

CENTCOM further rejected claims that the commercial oil tanker M/T Nora had breached the US blockade, maintaining that more than 20 American warships, supported by hundreds of aircraft and thousands of service members, continue to enforce maritime restrictions.

The latest exchange reflects the intensifying information battle between Washington and Tehran as tensions remain high over security and navigation in the strategically significant Strait of Hormuz.
