Govt Partners with IndiGo to Promote India as Global Tourism Destination

New Delhi, July 30, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

The Ministry of Tourism on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with InterGlobe Aviation Limited, the parent company of IndiGo, to promote India as a preferred global tourism destination.

The partnership is a strategic, non-exclusive and non-financial collaboration aimed at expanding the reach of India’s tourism promotion initiatives.

The MoU was exchanged in the presence of Union Minister for Tourism and Culture Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. Tourism Secretary Bhuvnesh Kumar, senior ministry officials and IndiGo representatives were also present at the event.

Shekhawat said the collaboration would strengthen India’s tourism outreach by combining the Ministry’s flagship Incredible India campaign with IndiGo’s extensive domestic and international network.

He said such partnerships would help showcase India’s diverse tourism offerings to wider global audiences and reinforce the country’s position as a leading travel destination.

Under the agreement, the Ministry of Tourism and IndiGo will jointly launch a global communication campaign titled “Incredible India by IndiGo”.

The initiative will highlight India’s cultural heritage, natural landscapes, spiritual destinations, wellness experiences, adventure tourism, wildlife and other travel attractions.

The campaign will be promoted through multiple platforms, including digital and print media, airport branding, in-flight channels, social media, international travel exhibitions and other promotional avenues.

The Ministry of Tourism will provide access to Incredible India brand assets and promotional material while supporting coordination with relevant stakeholders. IndiGo will develop destination-focused content and promote India’s tourism message through its customer engagement platforms.

The partnership will also include joint participation in tourism promotion activities, destination-specific campaigns and other initiatives aimed at increasing the visibility of Indian destinations in domestic and international markets.

The MoU will remain valid for an initial period of two years and is intended to support efforts to increase international tourist arrivals and position India as a major global tourism hub.
