A fire broke out early Friday morning at a Tata Communications’ facility operating from premises leased at Next-Gen Tower in Greater Kailash-I, New Delhi, prompting swift emergency response and precautionary measures, the telecom and digital infrastructure provider said in a statement.
The company said the fire was brought under control by firefighters, and no loss of life has been reported in the incident.
In a regulatory filing, Tata Communications clarified that the incident occurred at a company functioning from leased premises within the Next-Gen Tower facility.
However, it did not disclose the cause of the fire or specify the extent of any potential damage.
“We hereby inform you of a fire incident that occurred today early morning at a company which has leased our premises at Next-Gen Tower, Greater Kailash-1, New Delhi,” the firm said.
“The fire has been brought under control with the efforts of firefighters, without any loss of life,” it added in its filing.
Following the incident, Tata Communications said it immediately activated its business continuity protocols to ensure uninterrupted services and to minimise disruption for customers relying on the data centre facility located at the site.
“Tata Communications has activated its business continuity protocols to maintain service continuity and minimise disruptions to its customers being served from the data centre facility at this premise,” it said in its filing.
The company added that it is closely monitoring the situation and will issue further updates as more information becomes available.
“Tata Communications is monitoring the situation and will intimate any further developments on this incident in due course,” it added.
However, the cause of the fire has not been determined yet. Neither the telecom major nor the authorities have issued any statement on it.(Agency)
