Russia on Sunday said its armed forces carried out overnight precision strikes targeting Ukrainian defence industry facilities in Kyiv and military logistics infrastructure in the Odesa region, claiming the attacks hit sites linked to drone production and military supplies.
In a statement posted on its official Telegram channel, the Russian Defence Ministry said the strikes were conducted using high-precision ground- and air-launched weapons. According to the ministry, the operation targeted enterprises involved in the production, assembly and storage of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and their components in Kyiv.
The ministry identified one of the targets as an industrial enterprise, Smart Intelligent System, which it claimed manufactured UAVs of different types along with components including airframes, navigation systems, optics and batteries.
It further alleged that another strike hit a drone assembly and storage facility in the southwestern part of Kyiv. According to the Russian military, the site had the capacity to produce up to 1,000 drones each month, including AQ-400 “Scythe”, AQ-100 “Bayonet” and RQ-100 “Scout” reconnaissance drones, with the involvement of specialists from a Ukrainian-American company.
The Russian Defence Ministry also said fuel and lubricant storage tanks intended to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine were struck at the Port of Chornomorsk in the Odesa region.
Separately, the ministry stated that Russian air defence systems intercepted eight guided aerial bombs and 1,060 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones over the previous day along the frontline.
It also claimed that Russian forces had carried out strikes on 152 locations over the past 24 hours, targeting logistics hubs, long-range drone production and storage facilities, as well as temporary deployment sites used by Ukrainian military formations and foreign fighters.
The claims made by the Russian Defence Ministry could not be independently verified.
