Punjab Police on Sunday carried out 532 raids at identified locations linked to gangster associates as part of the ongoing ‘Gangstran Te Vaar’ campaign, which entered its 187th day.
The state-wide operation was conducted by district police teams in coordination with the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) Punjab as part of efforts to curb gangster networks and criminal activities across the state.
According to police officials, 353 individuals were arrested during the latest operation, with one weapon also recovered. With these arrests, the total number of people held since the launch of the campaign has reached 53,248.
The police teams also initiated preventive action against 212 persons during the day-long drive and arrested three proclaimed offenders.
The ‘Gangstran Te Vaar’ campaign was launched by Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav on January 20, 2026, with the objective of taking coordinated action against gangsters and their associates.
Police said the campaign involves continuous monitoring, identification and mapping of locations linked to criminal networks, followed by targeted operations across districts.
