India pacer Prasidh Krishna was named the team’s ‘Impact Player of the Series’ after India secured a 1-0 victory in the two-Test series against Sri Lanka.
Krishna, who claimed seven wickets across the two matches, credited the reserve players and support staff for their contribution to the team’s campaign. He received the award following the series and acknowledged the efforts of those working behind the scenes.
“Nothing would be possible without each one of you,” Krishna said in a video shared by the BCCI. He praised the team’s reserves and support staff for their work during the camp and the demanding conditions in Galle and Colombo.
Krishna also highlighted the efforts of support staff who remained involved during long practice sessions in the intense heat, including those helping players with water and other requirements.
“All the reserves out there, coming in, running in, helping out all of us. So, this effort is going to take us all a long way,” he said.
Team India Performance Analyst Hari Prasad Mohan praised Krishna for his discipline and his analytical approach to bowling. He said the fast bowler consistently sought data to fine-tune his strategies.
Mohan said Krishna had “made the ball talk” and continued asking questions of Sri Lanka’s batters despite difficult conditions. He added that since the team arrived in Colombo, the pacer had repeatedly sought detailed data and joked that Krishna could have a second career as an analyst.
Krishna’s seven wickets came as India won the opening Test in Galle by 165 runs before the second Test in Colombo ended in a draw. The result gave India a 1-0 series victory.
