Actor Rahul Bhatt marked Raksha Bandhan with sister Pooja Bhatt, sharing a picture from the celebration and describing her as his “protector”.
Rahul posted the photograph on social media, in which he can be seen tying a Rakhi to Pooja. “My protector- my sister,” he wrote in the caption.
Rahul and Pooja are the children of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and his first wife Kiran Bhatt, formerly known as Lorraine Bright. Mahesh Bhatt later married actress Soni Razdan, and the couple have two daughters, Shaheen and Alia Bhatt.
Rahul, who has worked as a fitness trainer and appeared on television, has often been in the public spotlight over various controversies. He has also spoken on several occasions about Pooja’s importance in his life, describing her as a strong source of support.
Rahul has said that he considers Pooja more talented than him and regards her as the sibling who carried forward their father’s creative legacy. He has also maintained that he shares a good relationship with his half-sister Alia.
Pooja has established herself in Hindi cinema as an actor, producer and director. She made her acting debut in Mahesh Bhatt’s 1989 film ‘Daddy’ and subsequently appeared in films including ‘Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin’, ‘Sadak’, ‘Sir’, ‘Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Aayee’, ‘Chaahat’, ‘Border’ and ‘Zakhm’.
She later moved into film production, backing projects such as ‘Tamanna’, ‘Dushman’ and ‘Zakhm’. ‘Zakhm’ won the National Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration.
As a director, Pooja helmed films including ‘Paap’, ‘Holiday’, ‘Dhokha’ and ‘Jism 2’. After an extended break from acting, she returned to the screen with the 2021 OTT series ‘Bombay Begums’.
