Actress Alia Bhatt marked Raksha Bandhan by sharing a series of pictures with her elder sister Shaheen Bhatt, including an adorable childhood throwback, and described her sister as her “Ghar” (home).
In the first photograph shared on Instagram on Friday, a young Alia can be seen looking affectionately at Shaheen as the sisters embrace. The post also featured a recent picture of the two sisters smiling at the camera while sharing another warm hug.
Alia captioned the post simply with “Ghar,” expressing her emotional bond with Shaheen. Shaheen responded with three face-holding-back-tears emojis.
The sisters have remained close personally and have also collaborated professionally through their production banner, Eternal Sunshine Productions.
The banner is backing the upcoming young-adult romantic comedy ‘Don’t Be Shy’, which is expected to have its world premiere on Prime Video on September 25.
In a joint statement, Alia and Shaheen said the project had been special to them from the beginning and expressed pride in seeing it come to life. They described the film as a story about youth, friendship, first love, heartbreak and the process of discovering one’s identity.
The sisters also praised the film’s young cast, highlighting their energy, vulnerability and chemistry.
Directed by Sreeti Mukerji, Don’t Be Shy features Aarushi Bajaj, Ansh Duggal, Bianca Arora and Piyush Khati in prominent roles. The supporting cast includes Kunaal Roy Kapur, Anurag Basu, Neha Dhupia and Anju Alva Naik.
The Raksha Bandhan post offered a glimpse into the longstanding bond between the Bhatt sisters, while their production collaboration marks another dimension of their relationship.
