Haryana ACB Arrests Narnaul Fire Station Fireman for Taking ₹20,000 Bribe

Chandigarh, July 27, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

The Haryana State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (SV&ACB) has arrested a fireman posted at the Fire Station in Narnaul for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹20,000. The action was carried out by the Rewari unit of the bureau as part of its ongoing campaign against corruption.

According to the bureau, a complaint was received from a person who had applied for installation of fire safety equipment and issuance of a Fire No Objection Certificate (NOC) for his medical store and hospital.

The complainant alleged that fireman Sandeep Yadav had demanded a bribe of ₹75,000 to ₹80,000 for getting the work completed. After verification of the complaint, the SV&ACB Rewari unit laid a trap and caught the accused while he was allegedly accepting ₹20,000 from the complainant.

The bureau said all mandatory legal procedures under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, were followed during the operation.

A case has been registered at Police Station SV&ACB, Gurugram, vide FIR No. 24 dated July 27, 2026, under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (as amended). Further investigation in the matter is underway.

The Haryana State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau has appealed to citizens to report any demand for bribes by government officials or employees instead of making illegal payments. The bureau stated that the identity of complainants is kept confidential and complaints are investigated impartially.

Citizens can report corruption-related complaints through the bureau’s helpline numbers 1064 and 1800-180-2022, WhatsApp number 9417891064, or through the official website of the bureau.
