The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Monday announced a peaceful protest march in Delhi on September 5, alleging that the Centre and BJP/NDA-ruled states had failed to fulfil commitments made to young people on July 25.
According to a statement issued by the party, the march will be held from India Gate to the New Delhi Police Headquarters and will be led by families of deceased NEET victims and victims of alleged police brutality. Students and young citizens from across the country are also expected to participate.
The announcement followed a meeting of the CJP National Working Committee, which reviewed what the party described as the government’s compliance with commitments made on July 25, 2026. The party said those assurances had led to the withdrawal of nationwide youth protests in good faith.
The CJP alleged that instead of implementing the commitments, the government had delayed action, cited technicalities and avoided providing clear assurances.
The party also referred to proceedings before the Supreme Court on August 18, claiming that the court had repeatedly sought a list of FIRs registered across the country so that it could consider whether they could be quashed collectively. The CJP alleged that the Union Government had not given a clear commitment on the matter and said its written assurance to the party was still awaited.
The party said its decision to resume street mobilisation was driven by what it termed a failure to honour the July 25 commitments. It said the patience shown by young people should not be interpreted as weakness and accused the government of risking a “vishwasghaat” (betrayal) of Gen-Z and families who had lost their children.
The CJP appealed to students, youth organisations and young citizens across the country to assemble at India Gate and participate peacefully in the September 5 march.
The party said families who had lost their children and victims of alleged police brutality would lead the demonstration, with participants seeking fulfilment of the commitments made to the youth on July 25.
