The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Moga, has launched a special mediation drive aimed at resolving suitable pending cases through mutual consent and settlement, with District and Sessions Judge Neelam Arora urging litigants to make the most of the initiative.
The “Mediation for the Nation 3.0” campaign began on August 1 and will continue until December 31, 2026. The nationwide initiative has been launched under the aegis of the Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee (MCPC), Supreme Court of India, headed by Justice Vikram Nath, with the objective of encouraging mediation for settlement of suitable pending disputes. The campaign has also been formally notified by courts as a special drive for settling pending cases through mediation.
Neelam Arora, who is also Chairman of DLSA Moga, said mediation provides an effective and peaceful mechanism for resolving disputes. With the assistance of a neutral mediator, parties can arrive at a mutually acceptable settlement, saving time and legal expenses while reducing stress and prolonged litigation.
She said amicable settlements can also help ease hostility between disputing parties and promote harmony, goodwill and peace in society.
Arora appealed to people with pending cases that are suitable for mediation to come forward and seek settlement through mutual consent. She said resolving such disputes would not only reduce the burden of pending cases on courts but also help provide people with speedy and effective justice.
She also urged the public to cooperate with DLSA Moga’s awareness initiatives on the benefits of mediation. The campaign seeks to encourage the settlement of maximum eligible cases through a process that is simpler, less costly and more time-efficient.
