Kashmiri Pandit employees working in the Kashmir Valley under the Prime Minister’s package have sought enhanced security from the Jammu and Kashmir administration following the circulation of a fresh threat poster on social media.
The PM Package Employees Forum has written to the J&K Chief Secretary, requesting immediate measures to strengthen the safety and protection of migrant Kashmiri Pandit employees posted in the Valley.
The forum said a threat poster, purportedly issued by a terrorist outfit calling itself the United Liberation Council (ULC) and dated August 23, 2026, had surfaced on social media. According to the forum, the poster allegedly contains threats against migrant Kashmiri Pandit employees and includes personal details such as names, residential addresses and vehicle numbers of some individuals.
The employees’ body, however, acknowledged that the authenticity of the poster and the identity of the group behind it had not yet been verified by the police or security agencies.
The forum said the repeated circulation of alleged threat letters and posters, particularly those containing sensitive personal information, had created serious concerns among employees and their families. It said the matter had been brought to the attention of the concerned police and security agencies for verification and necessary action.
Referring to previous targeted attacks in which Kashmiri Pandit employees were killed, the forum said the recurring threats had generated fear and insecurity among employees and their families, while elders and members of the community were also worried about their safety.
The forum has sought enhanced and adequate security cover for all PM Package Kashmiri Pandit employees serving in the Valley. It has also requested immediate verification of the latest threat poster and identification of those responsible for its circulation.
Among its other demands are a review of security arrangements at employees’ workplaces, residential accommodations and transit routes, along with preventive measures based on the latest security assessments and intelligence inputs.
The forum has specifically sought immediate protection and security guidance for employees whose names, addresses or vehicle details may have appeared in the alleged threats.
The employees said they expected the government to treat the matter with “utmost seriousness” and take prompt measures to ensure their safety and restore confidence among PM Package employees.
The threat poster has surfaced on social media, but security agencies have yet to establish its authenticity or verify the existence and identity of the organisation named in it.
