Akshay Bhatia secured his place in the season-ending Tour Championship after finishing tied 12th at the 2026 BMW Championship, while Wyndham Clark completed a wire-to-wire victory at Bellerive Country Club.
Bhatia carded a two-under 68 in the final round, featuring three birdies and an eagle against three bogeys. He saved his best for the finish, making an eagle followed by a birdie to close his round.
Starting the BMW Championship 15th in the FedExCup standings, Bhatia retained that position and comfortably remained inside the top 30. He is the only one of the three Indian-origin players in the field to qualify for the Tour Championship. The season finale brings together the top 30 players in the FedExCup standings.
Aaron Rai also finished strongly with a two-under 68, including four birdies and two bogeys, to tie for 16th. However, he slipped to 39th in the FedExCup standings and missed out on the season finale. Sahith Theegala carded a one-under 69 to finish tied 41st and ended the playoffs ranked 48th.
At the top of the leaderboard, Clark closed with an even-par 70 to finish at 17-under 263 and win by three shots. He erased a five-shot overnight advantage during the final round but responded with birdies on each of the last three holes to seal his sixth PGA Tour title and third victory of the 2026 season.
The victory lifted Clark to No. 3 in the FedExCup standings and secured his place at the Tour Championship. He also became the first player since Dustin Johnson in 2016 to win both the US Open and BMW Championship in the same season.
Patrick Cantlay finished runner-up, while Rory McIlroy was third. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler tied for 12th alongside Bhatia and retained the No. 1 position in the FedExCup standings for the fifth consecutive season.
Gary Woodland’s tied-fourth finish lifted him from 31st to 18th and earned him his first Tour Championship berth since 2019. Cantlay climbed from 43rd to 19th, while Robert MacIntyre moved from 36th to 25th.
Kurt Kitayama, Rickie Fowler and Bud Cauley were among the notable players to fall outside the top 30 and miss the season finale. The 30-player Tour Championship begins at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta on August 27.
