The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed that 97 Pakistani military personnel and five alleged informants were killed during 48 operations carried out by the group in Balochistan in July, according to reports in local media.
In its monthly operational report, BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch claimed that 15 military personnel were also injured during the operations, which allegedly targeted security forces, government installations, communication networks and surveillance infrastructure.
The claims could not be independently verified.
According to the report cited by local media, the operations were carried out across several areas, including Kahan, Chagai, Kharan, Kalat, Mastung, Khuzdar, Mand, Tump, Quetta, Karachi, Pasni and other locations in Balochistan.
The BLF claimed that its largest operation of the month took place on July 22 in Mastung’s Khadkocha area, where it targeted a Pakistani military convoy at Macro Stop. The group claimed 17 personnel were killed and 10 others injured in the attack.
The armed group also claimed responsibility for attacks on military convoys, camps and checkpoints, stating that its fighters disrupted supply routes by creating blockades at several points on highways.
The report further claimed that the group destroyed surveillance equipment, including drones and cameras, and damaged military vehicles during its operations. It also claimed that weapons were seized during the attacks.
The BLF said it used various methods, including ambushes, sniper attacks, intelligence-based operations, heavy weapons and improvised explosive devices during the reported actions.
The claims come amid continued security challenges in Pakistan’s Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces, where attacks targeting security personnel have increased in recent months.
In a separate incident in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a police official was killed after unidentified attackers opened fire in the Sarvekai area of Upper South Waziristan district. Police officials said an investigation into the incident was underway.
