American golfer Yealimi Noh moved into a commanding three-shot lead after the third round of the 2026 AIG Women’s Open, producing a composed two-under-par 69 at Royal Lytham & St Annes to edge closer to her maiden Women’s Open title.
Noh, who began the day tied for third, recovered impressively from an unsteady opening stretch. After bogeys on the fourth and fifth holes, she responded with a birdie on the sixth before dropping another shot at the seventh. The American then transformed her round with three consecutive birdies on the ninth, 10th and 11th holes, adding another on the 16th to finish at seven-under-par overall.
Reflecting on her performance, Noh said the season had been challenging but noted that golf can change quickly with one strong week. She credited improved tempo on the back nine and said she was focused on enjoying the final round while remaining aware that significant work still lay ahead.
Five players share second place at four-under-par heading into Sunday’s final round. The chasing pack includes Germany’s Esther Henseleit, Americans Lucy Li, Thailand’s Jeeno Thitikul, South Korea’s Haeran Ryu and Japan’s Shiho Kuwaki.
Henseleit carded an impressive four-under 67, while Li returned a two-under 69. Overnight leader Haeran Ryu slipped back after a three-over 74.
England’s Lottie Woad occupies seventh place at three-under, while Ayaka Furue, Minami Katsu, Chanettee Wannasaen and Charley Hull are tied for eighth at two-under.
India’s challenge ended after the second round, with Diksha Dagar and Aditi Ashok failing to make the cut.
