Actress Sonali Bendre has spoken about stepping into a new role as a presenter with the upcoming film Sohla, describing the project as a meaningful beginning to a new phase in her career.
In a statement shared with IANS, the Sarfarosh actress said she has always been drawn to stories that leave a lasting impression on audiences and encourage them to pause, reflect and view life from a different perspective.
Sonali said Sohla immediately connected with her because of its themes of hope, resilience and the inner strength found in ordinary people. She added that these values have become increasingly significant to her over the years, making the film a fitting choice for her first project as a presenter.
“As I step into this role as a presenter, I hope to support films that move people emotionally while bringing attention to storytellers and voices that deserve to be discovered,” Sonali said.
She expressed hope that audiences experience the same emotional connection with the film that she felt when she first heard its story.
Writer-director Saaikat Bagbaan said every filmmaker hopes to work with collaborators who believe in the vision of a project. He said Sohla aims to present an honest and emotionally grounded story celebrating hope and the resilience of everyday people.
Produced by Rose Movies and CarryOn Pictures, the film is produced by Sachin Srivastav, Ratna Srivastava and Kavita Bagban. Sohla is written and directed by Saaikat Bagbaan and is scheduled to release in cinemas on October 16.
