All India Muslim Jamaat Chief Alleges Threats, Submits Documents on Alleged Waqf Property Irregularities

Bareilly, July 31, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

All India Muslim Jamaat President Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Bareilvi on Friday alleged that he had been receiving threats from individuals associated with the Samajwadi Party (SP) after raising concerns over the alleged misappropriation of Waqf Board properties. He also claimed to have submitted documentary evidence to the district administration regarding alleged irregularities involving Waqf land in Bareilly.

Speaking to reporters, Razvi alleged that attempts were being made to intimidate him but said he would continue to pursue the matter. “People from the Samajwadi Party are trying to scare and threaten me, but I will not be intimidated,” he said.

The cleric had earlier written to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath seeking an investigation into the alleged misuse and illegal sale of Waqf Board properties.

Referring to criticism from Samajwadi Party leaders, Razvi claimed that they had sought evidence to support his allegations. He said he had submitted documents to the District Magistrate’s office relating to two properties in Bareilly district.

According to Razvi, one of the properties involves around 1,400 bighas of Waqf land in Baheri tehsil, which he alleged was being sold illegally. He further claimed that another Waqf property in Chandpur Bichpuri, currently valued at around Rs 100 crore due to urbanisation, had also been sold.

Alleging large-scale irregularities in the management of Waqf assets, Razvi said such properties were meant to generate resources for the welfare of poor Muslims, widows and orphans, but claimed that corruption had prevented the intended beneficiaries from receiving the benefits.

He urged Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the Bareilly District Magistrate to order a comprehensive investigation into the alleged irregularities so that, according to him, the truth could be established and Waqf resources could be safeguarded.

There was no immediate response from the Samajwadi Party to Razvi’s allegations.
