Trump Says US Rapidly Rebuilding Weapons Stockpiles Amid Global Security Challenges

Washington, July 27, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

US President Donald Trump has said his administration is moving swiftly to replenish America’s military stockpiles, asserting that the country’s defence capabilities remain strong despite the extensive military assistance provided to Ukraine in recent years.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One while travelling to Michigan, Trump dismissed concerns that the United States could face ammunition shortages if confronted with another major conflict, including in the Middle East.

“We have money. We have a lot of ammunition. Different types,” Trump said, maintaining that the country remains well equipped while simultaneously expanding production to strengthen future readiness.

The President acknowledged that significant quantities of military equipment had been supplied to Ukraine under the previous administration but said efforts were underway to restore and expand US inventories.

According to Trump, the administration has accelerated investment in the defence industrial base, with new manufacturing facilities being established to increase production of advanced military equipment. He specifically highlighted the expansion of Patriot missile system production and said major defence contractors are building multiple new plants to meet future requirements.

Trump also contrasted the current situation with his earlier tenure in office, claiming he had previously strengthened US ammunition reserves before large-scale military aid was sent overseas. While acknowledging the need for additional supplies of certain advanced weapons, he insisted the United States remains in a strong strategic position.

“We’re in very good shape. But, for some of the more sophisticated stuff, we’d certainly like to have more,” he said.

The President also voiced support for Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth, rejecting suggestions that the Pentagon had provided flawed military advice during the recent conflict involving Iran.

The remarks come as the US administration continues to emphasise strengthening domestic defence manufacturing while responding to evolving global security challenges, including ongoing tensions in the Middle East and continued military support for allied nations.
