Actress Sonakshi Sinha has expressed concern over the ongoing student protests in Jharkhand, saying it was “disheartening” to see students facing difficulties and questioning when such struggles would come to an end.
Sharing her views on Instagram Stories, Sonakshi reposted a video explaining the reasons behind the student agitation and highlighted the challenges being faced by young aspirants. “It’s so disheartening to see students of our country go through this… when will it stop???” she wrote.
The video she shared referred to students’ frustration over alleged irregularities and repeated paper leaks in government recruitment examinations. The issue has triggered widespread protests in Ranchi, where thousands of students are demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into alleged corruption, examination irregularities and paper leaks linked to the 14th Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and JSSC-CGL examinations.
The protest movement has seen students organising sit-ins at Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium, with support from several activist groups.
The agitation intensified after a copy of an alleged OMR answer sheet belonging to a successful candidate in a government recruitment examination surfaced online last month. The post emerged soon after the announcement of preliminary results of the JPSC examination and claimed that the candidate had qualified despite attempting only 48 out of 100 questions in the first paper.
Following the allegations, concerns over the integrity of recruitment examinations grew, leading to larger demonstrations by students in Ranchi.
This is not the first time Sonakshi has spoken in support of student movements. Earlier, she reacted to allegations of violence during a march to Jantar Mantar connected with the CJP protest, expressing solidarity with those affected.
