The Punjab Government will organise the grand theatrical production “Humare Ram” across the state during August and September 2026, with 41 performances planned in 12 cities to showcase the cultural and civilisational values associated with the epic Ramayana.
Punjab Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister S. Tarunpreet Singh Sond said the initiative, being organised under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, aims to provide people across Punjab an opportunity to witness a contemporary stage adaptation depicting the ideals and teachings of Lord Ram.
He said the government would spread the message of Sanatana through the historical epic of the Ramayana and highlight India’s spiritual, cultural and moral heritage through an engaging theatrical format.
S. Sond said the Punjab Government respects the freedom of people to practise their individual faiths and has consistently organised cultural programmes that go beyond religious boundaries.
The minister said Humare Ram has received appreciation at national and international levels, particularly among young audiences, and the Mann government is bringing the acclaimed production to viewers across Punjab. He added that elaborate arrangements of light and sound would be made for the performances.
The schedule of performances includes Mohali at Amity University on August 7 and 8; Bathinda at Balwant Gargi Auditorium on August 9 and 24; Jalandhar at CT Group of Institutions on August 28 and 29; Ferozepur at Genesis Institute of Dental Sciences and Research on August 30; Hoshiarpur at Cambridge School on September 4 and 5; Gurdaspur at Sukhjindra College on September 6 and 11; Pathankot at Deen Dayal Auditorium on September 12 and 13; Amritsar at the GNDU campus on September 16 and 17; Patiala at Punjabi University campus on September 18 and 19; Khanna on September 20; Ludhiana at Manmohan Singh Auditorium on September 25 and 26; and Sangrur at SLIET Longowal on September 27.
Produced by Felicity Theatre, Humare Ram is a Hindi stage production that presents the Ramayana through immersive visuals, aerial performances and advanced stagecraft. The production features actor Ashutosh Rana as Ravan and Rahull R. Bhuchar as Lord Ram.
S. Sond said the production offers a distinct interpretation of the Ramayana by exploring lesser-known perspectives. The narrative begins with Luv and Kush questioning Lord Ram after Sita’s departure and unfolds through the celestial viewpoint of Lord Surya.
The minister said the production combines theatre, music, visual effects and modern technology to create a unique cultural experience aimed at connecting younger generations with India’s heritage while promoting appreciation for world-class theatrical arts.
He added that the initiative reflects the Punjab Government’s efforts to preserve and promote the country’s cultural traditions through innovative platforms.
Meanwhile, Advisor to the Punjab Heritage and Tourism Promotion Board Deepak Bali appealed to people across Punjab to attend the performances in large numbers and experience the presentation celebrating the life, ideals and enduring message of Maryada Purushottam Lord Ram.
